First Images of King Edwards Towers

These are the first project images by developer Harvey Developments of a new double tower scheme on the King Edward site in Liverpool.

Sitting on a prime city centre location on Liverpool's famous waterfront, the scheme will have 500 apartments in 1, 2 3 bedroom varieties plus a new luxury hotel. Adding to the luxury nature of the project is not only duplex penthouses but a Ferrari dealership so the resident occupiers will just be able to pop downstairs to get a brand new GTO.

The pictures, clearly an indicative version rather than definitive, show the tallest of the towers sits nearest the Beetham West Tower in terms of its location on the site. Appearing to be about the same size in height, roughly 130 metres tall and between 45 and 50 floors and the shorter tower about three floors less.

Set around one of the corners of the site forming an L between them, the main tower element is separated from the ground levels. They have the sort of Simpsonesque panelling that is proving popular with developers these days.

These aren't the first plans of tall buildings for the area. Vantage Properties and DTR:UK previously came up with a 48 storey tall proposal in 2005 that never got as far as the planning system due to the being site was sold on.

The site is occupied by the King Edward pub that was originally bought for a mere £150,000 and sold five years later in June 2006 to Harvey Developments for £6 million showing just how much demand for land has gone up in Liverpool since the beginning of the decade.

A replacement planning application for the recently invalidated one is expected to be filed sooner than later by Harvey Developments.
